Rugby Training Drills to help you recreate game situations and practice
As a coach you should attempt to use or design drills which are as close to the game situation as possible. The more relevant the activity, the easier players find it to transfer the learning to a game. These drills, which have been collated over several years along with many that have been devised and adapted by the authors, will help you to create the right game simulations.
For players of all ages
Simply by extending or contracting the distances shown you can use the drills for players of all ages. Although the main focus is Rugby League drills, virtually all the drills are just as relevant to Rugby Union. Indeed, even skills specific to Rugby League, such as 'Play the Ball', can be adapted as a rugby union training drill in the '15-a-side code.'
